Roman and Medieval Cartographers would fill the unexplored edges of the map, or The Terra Incognita, with illustrations of mythical hybrid monsters who terrorised and engulfed travellers who strayed too far to the edges.

During my residency at Outpost Studios, I have been exploring the concept of boundaries and temporal thresholds. Traumatic excesses of the past persist and haunt the present. These spectres from the past are not static entities but mutable signs, responsive to the present moment and always shapeshifting.
